Durability of Permanent Makeup

All Clients want to know about the durability of the treatment, that is, how long the color will stay intense or last. As we all know, the color of permanent makeup will fade over the years. The rate at which this fading happens involves the product that is used and the technique of the permanent makeup artist. A rule of thumb is the older, drier, and thinner the skin is, the longer the procedure will stay. On the other hand, the younger, oiler, and thicker the skin is, the shorter the life span of the treatment will be. The darker the colors are, the longer life of the result will be.

  • Guyliner is becoming very popular, thanks to men like Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies and by Pete Wentz, a member of the band "Fall Out Boy." #Guyliner is exactly what it sounds like: eyeliner for men. Use these tips to successfully wear this increasingly popular trend.
  • Purchase black eyeliner. Unlike women, who can choose a rainbow of eyeliner shades, men should stick to basic black eyeliner.
  • Start with a black pencil eyeliner. Pencil eyeliners are softer and more forgiving of mistakes than the liquid eyeliners. Once you master putting on #guyliner, you can switch to liquid eyeliner.
  • Brace your arm against a bathroom counter and lean in very close to the mirror. Steady your hand, as applying eyeliner with a shaky hand will not create the desired result.
  • Outline your eyes, top and bottom, making the line thick. Feel free to go all the way up both corners.
  • Smudge the eyeliner upwards and outwards with your finger or a professional smudger to give it a smudged and less perfect look.
  • Practice makes perfect. Even women who have been wearing eyeliner for years can mess up the application. Have make-up remover available the first few times you put on your guyliner. Expect to remove and reapply it a few times to get it correct.

Two Different Approaches to Eyebrow Enhancement

There are two different approaches to "eyebrow design:" brow enhancement and total brow creation. The approach is not a choice but instead, is based on the existing condition of the client's eyebrows.

Brow enhancement is the process of designing a pair of eyebrows using the rules of proper eyebrow placement and subjective esthetic input, in conjunction with the existing eyebrow shape and arch as guidelines. Brow enhancement is performed when the client has enough existing eyebrow hairs so we can clearly see the natural line of the eyebrow and its arch.

After identifying the ideal beginning and ending points, the existing eyebrow can be added to or subtracted from to bring about the desired result. Working with the existing eyebrow will create less upkeep for you in the way of hair removal and fill-in.
Total brow creation is the process of designing a pair of eyebrows by creating an entirely new eyebrow shape based on the rules of proper eyebrow placement and subjective esthetic input. I would work with this approach if you have few or no existing brow hairs with which to work.

Men can do it too!

Who says men can't have their eyes done? Whether we realize it or not, the appearance of a lash line is just as much of an attraction factor for men as it is for women! Dark eyelashes imply youth and good health, so why not enhance yours? The results can be so natural no one will ever know you had it done. A little change can go a long way!

Choose Wisely.....Las Vegas Permanent Makeup

The name of this blog will be called….Choose Wisely.

Today I was looking at other artist's work here in Las Vegas and I came across a post from someone I follow and the post kinda took me by surprise a little. She says to do your homework and choose wisely. When I read it , it gave me flashbacks of when I entered the beauty industry and a direct competitor said the same thing which was meant to be a slight against my upstart business at the time.

Personally I would never put down another artist work in the same market that I am in. I respect other artist too much for that. We are all in the same industry to make men and women feel good about themselves. When I see post like this it lets me know that you are aware of whats happening and what is coming. So I take it as a compliment really. Yes……please…choose wisely. People like many styles and don't just choose one style or just like one artist. I give free consultation all the time and I ask them what brought them to me. I get many different answers. Some people have gone to several of the permanent makeup businesses here in vegas and they didn't like there work. I imagine it will happen to New Finish Ink as well.

I live this art and I don't spend time tearing down other artist work. I'm honored to work with all my current clients and future clients to come. Thank you for reading this and Happy Holidays to everyone.

Who can get permanent makeup.....

As long as you can heal properly, you're a candidate for permanent makeup. Young and old alike use permanent makeup to enhance their natural appearance and lessen the time they spend getting ready each and every day. Many athletes choose permanent makeup because it doesn't sweat off during the long rigors of daily activities. People with vision challenges and people who find it difficult to apply traditional makeup due to medical conditions seek permanent makeup.

Preparation and Post Procedure

An initial consultation is very important. During this consultation, I will take a medical history survey, evaluate your health, review the choice of pigment shades available, and help you choose the shade that suits you best.
For any procedure involving the eye, contact lenses and make-up should not be worn the day of the procedure and transportation should be arranged. I may also recommend that a skin patch test be performed.
After the procedure, you may experience swelling or tenderness at the pigmented site. The pigmented site should be kept moist for a period of five to seven days. You may be advised to apply a greasy ointment or dressing to the site. You should also avoid sun, and may be advised to wear sunscreen on the pigmented site. With eye procedures, you should avoid placing cosmetics on the pigmented site and you may be asked to forgo wearing contact lenses for a few days.
Possible side effects may include infection, swelling, bruising, rash, tenderness, and a reaction to the pigment or anesthesia.

Nouveau Contour

The digital control unit of the Nouveau Contour Intelligent assures a stable needle frequency, despite the resistance of the skin. When resistance of the skin occurs, the microprocessor will adjust the needle frequency accordingly.

The Nouveau Contour Intelligent is the most efficient device available today on the market for permanent makeup in Las Vegas, Nevada. Controlled by a microprocessor it has many advantages over the traditional analogue devices. With traditional devices the needle frequency will drop when penetrating skin that is more resistant.

Touch ups have become almost obsolete with the Nouveau Contour Intelligent.

History Of Cosmetic Tattooing

The History of Cosmetic Tattooing reportedly stems back to the early 1900's. During that time, the girls and women received beauty spot and blush tattooing. Other reports of cosmetic tattooing in the early 1900's included camouflaging of the gums of a man who suffered from anemia and "white" gums. Other people reportedly received tattoos in bald spots on the scalp. Cosmetic tattooing however did not become popular nationally until the late 1980's.

Why Permanent Cosmetics

Permanent Makeup in Las Vegas holds the promise that you can work all day, go to the gym, dance all night long, and wake up in the morning with makeup still intact. Nothing will phase these cosmetic tattoos with the exception of time. Permanent makeup for eyeliner is the most popular cosmetic enhancement, followed by eyebrows and lip color. In Las Vegas, permanent cosmetics is safe and a natural looking alternative to the expense of your daily routine of applying makeup in the morning and several times throughout the day. Properly applied, your permanent will be more natural and realistic in appearance as compared to your normal routine.
